About The Position

Sysco is seeking a Class 1 Delivery Driver to join their team. This role involves performing necessary pre and post-trip inspections on a variety of equipment, reporting any vehicle maintenance issues, and keeping an accurate and up-to-date log book. The driver will deliver products within assigned route schedules and time windows, immediately informing management of any deviations. Responsibilities also include unloading product from the trailer by hand or using a hand cart, placing it in designated customer storage areas, and potentially transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions. The driver will operate an assigned STS unit to generate invoices, verify delivery items with customers, and obtain proper signatures, contacting management for authorization regarding discrepancies. Adherence to Sysco Safe preferred work methods is required, along with maintaining sanitary conditions in the tractor and trailer and assisting with warehouse and yard maintenance when needed. Requirements

  • Class 1 with a clean drivers abstract.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized with good communication skills.
  • Ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performing necessary pre and post trip inspections on a variety of equipment.
  • Reporting any vehicle maintenance issues.
  • Keeping an accurate and up to date log book.
  • Deliver product within assigned route schedule and time windows.
  • Immediately inform management of any deviations.
  • Unload product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas.
  • May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.
  • Operate assigned STS unit to generate invoices.
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper. Signatures.
  • Contact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns.
  • Follow Sysco Safe preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer and assist with maintaining the warehouse and yard when needed.
  • Attend all required company meetings
  • Other duties may be assigned.
