About The Position
This unique position requires you to be on the road 5 days at a time followed by 5 days off. Running primarily in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Northeast U.S., and Midwest U.S. Average of 7,000 to 8,000 miles per month. Required to drive Highway 17 in Ontario 12 months a year. Flexible schedule requiring weekend departures. Additional work might be available upon request. Regional work will be required. Must be able to haul all commodities including meat and alcohol.
Requirements
- 24 months of tractor-trailer experience.
- Valid Class 1/AZ Licence.
- Eligible to drive in the U.S.
- Eligible for a FAST card.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Reliable, flexible, and punctual.
- Strong communication skills.
- Registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Responsibilities
- Drive tractor-trailer on a 5 days on/5 days off schedule.
- Operate primarily in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Northeast U.S., and Midwest U.S.
- Drive Highway 17 in Ontario year-round.
- Depart on weekends as required by the flexible schedule.
- Perform regional work as needed.
- Haul all commodities, including meat and alcohol.
- Provide driver assist on occasion.
- Adhere to safety values.
