About The Position

Berkley Edge is seeking an inquisitive, detail-oriented professional to join its Claims team as a Claims Trainee or Claims Associate, depending on prior insurance experience. This developmental role provides hands-on exposure to commercial insurance claims, policy analysis, investigation, and professional communication. Key functions will include but are not limited to: Assist in the investigation, evaluation, and administration of commercial insurance claims. Review and analyze policies, contracts, and claim-related documents. Conduct investigations, gather information, and communicate with key stakeholders. Prepare claim documentation, correspondence, and coverage analyses. Maintain organized claim files and identify significant claim or coverage issues. Conduct coverage, liability, damages, reserve, and resolution evaluations. Collaborate across departments and comply with company and regulatory requirements. Participate in ongoing insurance and claims education and training. Following completion of the initial training period, manage an average assignment volume of approximately 20–30 new claims per month while maintaining timely, accurate, and appropriate handling of the overall caseload.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, investigative, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret contracts and policy language.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business technology.
  • Obtain required Texas adjuster licenses within six months of hire and remain current with applicable continuing education requirements.
  • Successfully complete the AIC designation as a prerequisite for consideration for promotion to Claims Adjuster.
