About The Position
Brookings Health System is seeking a Claims Specialist to join their team. This role is vital in submitting and following up on insurance claims across all service lines. The specialist will provide compassionate guidance to support patients in navigating medical billing complexities with clarity, empathy, and expertise. Training and support will be provided for those new to medical billing.
Requirements
- Experience in medical billing is not required; training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Complete all claim edits to ensure claim submissions are compliant with federal and state regulations
- Research and resolve requests from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payors.
- Assist co-workers with problem resolution and completing team projects.
- Assist patients with insurance-related questions.
- Resolve billing problems and assists interdepartmentally with billing issues
