Our team of experienced desk adjusters are the best of the best when it comes to handling Large Loss claims. Our "Swyfft" mindset allows us to promote a faster, friendlier claims process which equals happier policyholders. This position is a 100% remote U.S. based opportunity that can be based in one of the following states only: AL, AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI. Some travel for day-to-day work, team meetings, and training will be required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a desk adjuster in the homeowner/property field.
  • Previous experience with Large Loss adjusting.
  • Understanding valued policy states and knowledge of which perils apply and when tendering limits are appropriate.
  • Previous experience working with contractors, and vendors for complex claims resolution.
  • Familiarity with large-scale rebuilds and mitigation estimates.
  • You are currently licensed or eligible for licensing as an adjuster in the states of: TX, FL, NY, LA, MA, and AL (we can provide assistance with your licensing fees).
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and other internal insurance related programs, systems, or applications. (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to communicate effectively using programs such as Slack & MS Teams. You are comfortable sharing screens and video chatting.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required.
  • Designated quiet work from home space.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous field adjusting and/or construction experience is extremely valuable to us.
  • HAAG Certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience using estimating software (Cotality) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of liability concerning first party homeowner property large losses and damages of $100K+.
  • Negotiate settlements and make payments within scope of authority, settling claims timely, and in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Effectively communicate with policyholders, agents, and service providers via phone, email, and internal systems to accurately document claim details.
  • Effectively manage loss and expense reserves to ensure accurate and timely reserving practices on all large loss claim exposures.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive claim handling documentation in the electronic claims management system and related applications including the completion and escalation of Large Loss Reports (LLR’s).
  • Ability to successfully manage a pending claim volume at varying stages in the claims process.
  • Interpret and apply the details of an insurance policy to ensure the accuracy of payments and claims declinations.
  • Ability to understand, computer generated loss estimates and construction terminology.
  • Update and maintain comprehensive claim handling notations in our electronic claims management system and other related applications.
