Claims Representative - Part-Time

About The Position

Optiom is adding part-time Claims Representatives to our client care team to strengthen coverage during our peak service hours (10:00–17:00, Monday–Friday). You will support the front lines of our claims process: reviewing documentation, processing claims accurately, and communicating with policyholders, brokers, and body shops to ensure our clients receive the support they are entitled to — quickly and professionally. This role is available in Langley, BC. This is a part-time role with 15-20 hours per week, paying $20-$25/hour, and is a hybrid position located in Langley, BC.

Requirements

1–2 years of customer service experience, ideally in insurance, financial services, or a fast-paced office environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
High attention to detail — accuracy in claims handling is not optional
Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize and meet service levels during high-volume periods
A high level of empathy, patience, and professional maturity when navigating difficult conversations with policyholders
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and CRM software
The ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Reliable availability for a consistent 15–20 hour per week schedule covering peak service windows

Nice To Haves

Active General Level 1 Insurance Licence already in hand
Prior experience in claims handling or insurance administration
Familiarity with total loss, vehicle replacement, or specialty insurance products
Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Punjabi, or French
