About The Position

As a Claims Manager, Liability, you will lead a team of Team Leaders and oversee intermediate complexity coverage and liability investigations. This role combines leadership, operational excellence, and strategic decision-making to ensure accurate, timely claim handling and compliance with company and state standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • An active Texas or Florida Adjuster License will be required to comply with state and GAINSCO requirements. Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. All licenses must be maintained in accordance with state requirements.
  • Minimum 2–3 years as a Claims Supervisor or Team Leader with direct people management responsibilities in Auto Liability claims is required.
  • Must have direct experience managing Liability coverage issues within the Auto Claims department.
  • Insurance background required.
  • Knowledge of Image Right and Claims Manager systems.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to monitor and assess performance.
  • Efficient time management for self and others.
  • Objective judgment and critical decision-making abilities.
  • Logical and reasoning skills to identify approaches and solutions to problems.
  • A willingness to work occasional weekends or extended hours as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a second-line leader or managing supervisors/team leaders is preferred.
  • Non-standard auto insurance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of 4–6 Team Leaders and their direct reports.
  • Drive employee engagement and foster a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training for new team members.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to develop leadership and technical skills.
  • Monitor claim handling for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state regulations.
  • Review and audit claims using a holistic approach.
  • Resolve escalated coverage and liability issues that cannot be handled by Team Leaders.
  • Provide reporting and insights to senior management.
  • Lead or assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance claims operations and customer experience.
