About The Position

Allied Universal® Compliance and Investigation Services is hiring a Claims Investigator to validate facts of loss for insurance claims through scene investigations, claimant and witness interviews, document retrieval, and data interpretation. The role investigates claims across workers’ compensation, general liability, property and casualty, and disability coverage. Investigators gather information independently and with clients and case managers, follow the handling insurance adjuster’s guidance for field tasks, and document findings in clear, concise, professional reports, memos, and letters. The position may also require running appropriate database indices and verifying the accuracy of results. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience, and must reside in the state listed in the job posting. The stated pay rate is $28–$32 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience.
Reside in the state listed in the job posting.
Meet one of these education and experience pathways: bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice; associate’s degree in Criminal Justice and at least four years of demonstrated experience conducting complex insurance investigations or adjusting complex claims; or high school diploma and at least six years of demonstrated experience conducting complex insurance investigations or adjusting complex claims.
Have at least two years of demonstrated experience conducting insurance claims investigations or adjusting complex claims.
Be able to obtain any Private Investigator license required by the states where the candidate works.
Successfully complete the Allied Universal Investigations training/orientation course after an offer.
Have working knowledge and understanding of anti-fraud laws, insurance regulations, and compliance rules and standards in the candidate’s home state and designated region.
Have Special Investigative Unit (SIU) compliance knowledge.
Type at least 40 words per minute with minimal errors.
Be flexible to work varied and irregular hours and days, including weekends and holidays.
Be proficient in using laptop computers and cell phones.

Responsibilities
