About The Position

In this internship, you'll gain hands-on experience and work with a mentor to learn all about the Claims role and network with leadership at social events. Sentry offers an internship experience for students to get a head start on their careers. With the claims internship, you will work with a mentor to learn what claims are and how they play a vital role in the company’s success, as well as how claims are handled. You will also get opportunities to network by attending diverse social events and meeting leadership in multiple areas.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate or associate degree in Business, Insurance, Communication, or a related field
• Obtain a minimum in-major GPA of 3.00
• Expected graduation of May 2029
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Obtain required licensing as needed
• Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on insight into claims negotiations and settlement processes to help reach fair resolutions for customers.
• Stand by customers during stressful times, guiding them through the claims process with genuine care and understanding.
• Review policy details to accurately verify coverage and policy limits for current customers.
• Dive into the details of a loss by gathering facts and reviewing documentation to understand what happened.
• Maintain clear, thorough records of all investigations, communications, and steps taken throughout the claims process.
