About The Position

The Concrete Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to concrete construction, including site preparation, forming, reinforcement, placement, finishing, repair, and cleanup. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate tools and equipment while following project plans and specifications. The Concrete Worker is expected to maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork while supporting concrete construction activities in a variety of jobsite conditions.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of concrete placement, forming, reinforcement, finishing, and curing techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow basic construction drawings, measurements, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in concrete construction.
  • Understanding of proper concrete placement, grade, slope, elevation, and finishing requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a construction crew.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and consistent work habits.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous concrete construction experience is preferred but may not be required for entry-level positions.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred based on project and travel requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in concrete construction, general construction, or a related trade is preferred.
  • Vocational, technical, apprenticeship, or construction-trade training is a plus.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or other construction-safety training is preferred.
  • Additional certifications related to concrete work, equipment operation, fall protection, aerial lifts, or other jobsite requirements are a plus.
  • Must be able to meet project-specific training, safety, and qualification requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare construction sites and work areas for concrete placement.
  • Set up, assemble, brace, and remove concrete forms as required.
  • Install and position rebar, wire mesh, anchors, embeds, and other reinforcing materials according to project requirements.
  • Measure, mix, pour, spread, screed, level, and finish concrete in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor concrete placement to ensure proper thickness, grade, slope, elevation, and finish.
  • Use hand tools and power tools commonly used in concrete construction.
  • Perform concrete patching, repairs, cutting, grinding, chipping, and demolition as needed.
  • Assist with placing, vibrating, consolidating, and curing concrete.
  • Load, unload, transport, and stage concrete materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow project drawings, specifications, layout information, and instructions from foremen and superintendents.
  • Inspect work areas and completed concrete work for quality and identify issues that may require correction.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the workday.
  • Follow all company, OSHA, project, and jobsite safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Work outdoors and in varying weather and jobsite conditions as required.
  • Perform other duties related to concrete construction as assigned.
