Claims Handler - General Liability & Property
About The Position
ClaimSorted is seeking a Senior Claims Handler to join their team in downtown Dallas. This is an in-office, five-day-a-week role focused on handling commercial general liability and property claims. The position is designed for a senior handler with a desire for rapid career growth, offering the opportunity to manage complex commercial files from the outset. As the company scales, there is a clear path for advancement into mentoring, managing, and building teams, supported by comprehensive training in people management, performance management, data, quality, and capacity planning. ClaimSorted is an AI-native claims solution aiming to resolve claims faster, fairer, and more reliably, backed by leading investors and experiencing significant year-over-year growth.
Requirements
- Willing to work 5 days in office in Dallas (in our amazing new office Downtown)
- 5+ years of commercial claims experience across general liability and property
- Texas All-Lines Adjuster license, with Texas designated as your home state
- Strong coverage analysis skills and confidence taking a position and defending it
- Strong organisation and ability to prioritise independently
- Comfortable using data to make decisions
- Team-oriented, hardworking, and ambitious
- Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching others, and the ambition to manage a team
- Startup or high-growth experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Handle complex commercial GL and property claims end to end: from first notification of loss through to settlement
- Review policy wordings, verify coverage, and make well-reasoned coverage determinations
- Investigate and assess liability and damages, coordinating experts, engineers, and loss adjusters where needed
- Communicate with insureds, brokers, and carrier partners throughout the claims journey
- Set appropriate reserves and manage claims within your authority, escalating clearly and early where you need to
- Manage litigated files and defence counsel, driving to resolution
- Maintain accurate and thorough claims records for audit and compliance
- Act as a technical reference point for less experienced handlers, and contribute to continuous improvement by flagging process inefficiencies
