About The Position

This is where insurance becomes real. We’re looking for an experienced Claims Consultant to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract, covering parental leave. You’ll be managing a portfolio of personal lines claims, owning the claim journey end to end - from first notification through to settlement - supporting customers through what can often be stressful and emotional situations. We work in a broker-intermediated model, so you’ll build strong, trusted relationships with brokers as well as customers. It’s a partnership and your ability to communicate clearly, empathetically and confidently will make all the difference. Our preference is for this role to be Auckland based, but we are also open to hearing from stand-out candidates based in CHCH.

Requirements

Experience managing personal lines insurance claims
Sound judgement and the confidence to make decisions
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
A calm, empathetic approach and genuine care for customer outcomes
A proactive, self-driven mindset

Responsibilities

Managing personal lines claims from lodgement through to settlement
Making confident, well-reasoned decisions within your delegated authority
Owning the customer and broker experience from start to finish
Explaining policy coverage and outcomes in a clear, human way
Supporting customers through difficult situations with empathy and professionalism
Supporting team workflow and contributing to a positive, high-performing environment
