About The Position

The Claims Professional I processes and manages insurance claims in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. The role investigates claims, analyzes policy coverage, and works toward timely and fair resolutions. It operates under moderate supervision and calls for attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to provide quality service to policyholders and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in insurance, risk management, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in claims handling, insurance operations, or a related role.
• Familiarity with insurance policies, terminology, and claims processing systems.
• Claims investigation and analysis skills.
• Policy interpretation skills.
• Negotiation and resolution skills.
• Regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Data entry and documentation accuracy.
• Customer service orientation.
• Time management and organizational ability.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate insurance claims to determine coverage and liability.
• Review and interpret policy language and relevant documentation to assess claim validity.
• Communicate with policyholders, agents, and external parties to gather required information.
• Accurately document claim-related activities in the system for record-keeping and regulatory compliance.
• Negotiate settlements within established authority and escalate complex cases when necessary.
• Provide customer service and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and company procedures throughout the claims process.
