About The Position

Mosaic is seeking a Claims Adjuster specializing in Representations and Warranties. The position is located in New York and reports to the Head of US, Claims. The role evaluates coverage, liability, and damages; manages expert and defense counsel assignments; communicates coverage positions; establishes and monitors reserves; and reports to reinsurers and insurance partners. The adjuster also provides customer service to insureds, brokers, and partners, supports business leaders on claims and underwriting matters, and attends mediations and trials as needed.

Requirements

At least five years of experience as a claims adjuster.
Knowledge of industry best practices and systems, including Lloyd’s ECF.
Strong relational skills, particularly in adverse or high-pressure situations.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to deal with customers and business partners professionally.
Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based on detailed analysis of complex issues.
Willingness to adapt as needed to help the team in a start-up environment.

Nice To Haves

Prior transactional liability experience, including Representations and Warranties or Tax Liability.
Juris Doctor (JD).
Familiarity with LMA.

Responsibilities

Evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company.
Directly and closely monitor assignments to experts and defense counsel.
Provide outstanding customer service and build longstanding relationships with insureds, brokers, and partners.
Communicate coverage positions to insureds.
Set and monitor reserves within authority.
Report to reinsurers and other insurance partners.
Support business leaders on claims and underwriting-related issues as needed.
Attend mediations and trials as necessary.
