About The Position

The Claims Adjuster, Litigated Bodily Injury role is responsible for settling litigated injury/liability claims in a fair and timely manner. This involves investigating, evaluating, and negotiating bodily injury claims with plaintiff counsel or through defense counsel to equitably settle claims, while adhering to company Bodily Injury Guidelines. The role requires assessing information and case law to form arguments to defend liability position and fostering strong working relationships within the Claims Department, other business units, and industry partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of bodily injury claims adjusting experience
  • 5 years or more of adjusting experience
  • Strong knowledge of litigation file handling procedures, case law, medical terminology and common injuries

Nice To Haves

  • Related post-secondary education
  • CIP/FCIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada
