About The Position

The Claim Assistant plays a key role in supporting Claims Adjusters and ensuring injured workers receive prompt, professional service throughout the claims process. Insurance experience is not required, and MEMIC is willing to train the right candidate who brings a positive attitude, strong technical skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Open and establish new workers' compensation claims and assign claims to the appropriate adjuster.
• Support the claims team with correspondence, forms, document preparation, filing, and mail processing.
• Process and pay invoices while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as a helpful resource for injured workers, employers, medical providers, and internal team members by responding to questions and directing inquiries appropriately.
• Maintain claim diaries, follow-up activities, and file documentation.
• Assist adjusters and management with information requests and administrative support.
• Help ensure claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards.
