The Civilian Paramedic performs advanced life support (ALS) assessment, treatment, and transport of sick and injured patients in accordance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, the Ocoee Fire Department's Medical Director Protocols, and department policies. The position is responsible for providing compassionate, high-quality prehospital emergency medical care while operating safely and effectively as part of an integrated emergency response system. Civilian Paramedics work alongside firefighters and other public safety agencies but are not required to hold firefighter certification. Personnel may respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, fires, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescues, mass casualty incidents, and other emergencies where EMS support is required. The salary for this position includes built-in FLSA overtime compensation based on the department's assigned work schedule.
