Civil/Transportation Engineer, Transportation Group
About The Position
TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Civil/Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Division. In the role of Civil/Transportation Engineer, we will count on you to work as a member of a highway/roadway design team. You will prepare roadway/highway design work using FDOT, local or AASHTO standards, including horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, and roadway drainage. You will also prepare elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications, and estimates, such as roadway sections, alignment/right-of-way plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans, traffic control plans, Signalization Plans, and Lighting Plans. Additionally, you will assist in managing larger projects and/or manage smaller projects, including preparing scopes, budgets, and schedules. You will serve as a technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas. You will also manage day-to-day communication with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants, keep projects on schedule and within budget, and ensure client satisfaction. Other duties as needed will also be performed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT licensure is required
- 2-3 years of DOT experience
- Proficient knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and/or Autodesk Civil3D
- Experience with FDOT Bar Menus or other design software as appropriate
- Knowledge of the FDOT Design Manual a must
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our Civil Works Team
Responsibilities
