About The Position

TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Civil/Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Division. In this role, you will work as a member of a highway/roadway design team, preparing various design elements using FDOT, local, or AASHTO standards. This includes horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout, interchange layout, and roadway drainage. You will also prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates for various elements such as alignment/right-of-way plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans, traffic control plans, and lighting plans. The position involves assisting in the management of larger projects and/or managing smaller projects, including preparing scopes, budgets, and schedules. You will serve as a technical liaison with clients and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day client communication, supporting junior engineers, writing reports, coordinating with sub-consultants, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget, and maintaining client satisfaction. Other duties as needed will also be performed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
EIT licensure is required
2-3 years of DOT experience
Proficient knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and/or Autodesk Civil3D
Experience with FDOT Bar Menus or other design software as appropriate
Knowledge of the FDOT Design Manual a must
Excellent oral and written communication skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our Civil Works Team

Responsibilities

Work as a member of a highway/roadway design team
Prepare roadway/highway design work using FDOT, local or AASHTO standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, roadway drainage
Prepare elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications and estimates: roadway sections, alignment/right-of-way plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans, traffic control plans, Signalization Plans, Lighting Plans
Assist in the management of larger projects and/or manage smaller projects
Include preparing scopes, budgets and schedules
Serve as technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinates technical efforts within discipline areas
Manage work elements: day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied
Perform other duties as needed
