We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Technologist to join our Site Development team in our Halifax, NS office. Requirements

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or a closely related discipline);
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD;
  • Experience completing quantity take-offs and supporting cost estimates;
  • Experience using RTK survey equipment;
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and meet time-sensitive deadlines;
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites, as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Open to all experience levels; civil/municipal design or construction experience (including co-op/internship) is an asset
  • Knowledge of municipal piped systems (water, wastewater, stormwater) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for civil/municipal infrastructure projects (water and sewer servicing, stormwater management plans/design, grading, access roads, parking, and related works);
  • Prepare high-quality drawing packages and design documentation for a wide range of projects;
  • Assist with day-to-day project activities from inception through design, construction, and contract administration;
  • Perform site inspections and field reviews to support design intent, quality, and constructability;
  • Carry out data collection and investigations, including topographic survey and infrastructure assessments; and
  • Prepare technical reports, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates to support design and construction.
