About The Position

The Civil Superintendent leads production and workforce activities for an Advanced Technology construction project, including projects in the Data Center market. The role plans and coordinates project work to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, within budget and schedule, and in compliance with contract drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and process controls. The position works with crews, field engineers, utility companies, equipment teams, vendors, and subcontractors.

Requirements

At least 8 years of heavy civil construction experience.
At least 5 years of construction management experience.
Valid driver's license.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of construction-site equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
Advanced knowledge of construction-site safety protocols and demonstrated ability to enforce project safety programs.
Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules, if applicable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract-specific plans and specifications.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and basic geometry.
Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree.
Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification.

Responsibilities

Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs, and schedules for assigned project work.
Review daily work schedules with direct reports and update weekly schedules based on project feedback.
Review project specifications to support job setup activities.
Work with crews, field engineers, and local utility companies to identify hazardous areas on the job site.
Coordinate with internal equipment teams and external vendors to ensure appropriate equipment and material quantities are available within budget and schedule.
Forecast work schedules, identify potential issues, and recommend technical or scheduling measures to mitigate production problems.
Provide technical input to identify and resolve project risks related to construction methods, work plans, material requirements, safety, and schedule activities.
Document daily activities and meeting notes using company-approved methods.
Promote and support strict adherence to safety and process controls for equipment operation, worksite safety, and documentation.
Recommend training needs identified on the job site.
Supervise subcontractor production and workforce for assigned project work.
Recommend work schedule or work method adjustments for subcontractor activities.
