Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers. Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. The Civil-Structural Field Engineer will report to the Area CSA Field Engineer (FAB Building) and assist the construction team in the technical aspects of the civil, structural, and architectural scope. The individual will provide direct support to superintendents and craft professionals, including, but not limited to, work package creation and maintenance, quality control, quantity verifications, material take-offs, material verifications, design change coordination, and general problem solving – all in support of meeting project cost and time schedules. The project involves a significant civil/structural scope involving both structural concrete and structural steel. The candidate should be well versed in concrete operations and the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Codes and Standards. The candidate should be well versed in structural steel erection and the American Institute of Steel Construction manual and standards. The candidate should be able to proficiently work in high-paced environments and manage change while upholding Bechtel Safety and Quality standards.
