About The Position
Progressive Design, Inc. is seeking a paid Civil/Structural Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. The onsite internship is based in Midlothian, Virginia, in the Richmond area, and focuses on job shadowing, client site visits, and design engineering project work. The role is intended for current juniors pursuing a Civil/Structural Engineering degree who are interested in heavy industrial work and consulting engineering. Progressive Design is a private, family-owned, woman-owned heavy industrial engineering and design consulting firm headquartered in central Virginia. Its multidisciplinary services support manufacturing facilities and clients with projects ranging from feasibility studies and process design to industrial capital projects and construction estimates.
Requirements
- Currently be a junior pursuing a Civil/Structural Engineering degree in an accredited undergraduate program.
- Have an interest in the heavy industrial field and consulting engineering.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Be results oriented and a team player.
- Demonstrate an uncompromised commitment to quality.
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Pass a drug test and background check.
Responsibilities
