About The Position

ProSidian is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer (Civil-Structural Analyst) to join their Engineering team. This role will be located at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina, supporting Environmental Management Sector requirements for a liquid waste contractor. The position involves performing advanced structural analyses to ensure design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions. The role is for Exempt personnel with a standard 40-hour work week, potentially including overtime. This is initially a Labor Hour Subcontract or Contract W-2 position, with the possibility of conversion to a Full-Time ProSidian-employed W-2 Position. The work will be performed at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC, supporting Savannah River Remediation LLC (SRMC) under the U.S. Department of Energy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D or similar computer codes.
  • Sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 & 349).
  • Ability to perform field walk-downs of structural systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to perform advanced analyses for normal-operation and accident-loading conditions.
  • Ability to work within SRR engineering processes, procedures, and programmatic guidance.
  • MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; OR BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering AND current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in either Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
  • Ability to quickly learn other tools as needed.

  • Experience supporting BOA Support Services for multiple department requirement Service Areas (SA) for Savannah River Remediation LLC (The SRMC/LW Contractor) at the U.S. Department of Energy | Savannah River Site (DOE-SRS) in Aiken, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions.
  • Perform Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) analyses.
  • Perform dynamic seismic analyses, including response-spectrum and time-history methods.
  • Develop in-structure seismic response spectra.
  • Evaluate structural responses for tornado wind loading.
  • Evaluate missile penetration effects.
  • Evaluate precipitation-related loading and effects, including rain, flood, and snow.
  • Evaluate explosion loading and structural response, including blast/detonation and deflagration.
  • Perform field walk-downs of structural systems as required to support engineering evaluations.
  • Provide Engineering services in accordance with SRR processes and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the ProSidian Engagement Team.
