About The Position

Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Civil-Structural Analyst in Aiken, South Carolina. This role involves performing advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions. Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures, with programmatic guidance from SRR.

Requirements

• MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
• Working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D, or similar computer codes.
• Sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, and ACI (318 & 349).
• Ability to perform field walk-downs of structural systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions.
• Perform Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI).
• Perform dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history).
• Develop in-structure seismic response spectra.
• Evaluate structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosions (blast/detonation and deflagration).
• Perform field walk-downs of structural systems.
