About The Position

Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries. The Civil (Senior Engineer) will be based at the project site and will oversee the execution of all civil works, including earthworks, foundations, concrete works, grading, drainage, road works, and associated infrastructure activities. The role involves continuous supervision of site operations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project standards, and applicable codes.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working on civil construction sites.
  • Solid knowledge of earthworks, concrete technology, grading, site development, and infrastructure execution.
  • Proficiency in interpreting civil and structural drawings.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Basic experience in Civil 3D or Navisworks.
  • Thorough understanding of how civil works interface with architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
  • Strong ability to identify deviations, assess risks, and guide execution teams with clear, practical technical instructions.
  • Knowledge of U.S. civil engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Confidence to take decisions on the ground.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in the Iron & Steel sector.
  • Involvement in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant construction activities.
  • PE License

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of all civil works, including earthworks, foundations, concrete works, grading, drainage, road works, and associated infrastructure activities.
  • Continuously supervise site operations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project standards, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate closely with structural, architectural, and MEP teams to ensure smooth execution across all disciplines.
  • Regularly assess site conditions, address technical challenges, and propose practical solutions.
  • Support the resolution of design deviations or construction issues.
  • Validate formwork and reinforcement arrangements.
  • Monitor concrete quality and placement.
  • Review contractor submissions.
  • Update red-line drawings.
  • Support preparation of as-built documents.
  • Maintain construction progress, quality compliance, and adherence to safety guidelines through routine interaction with project managers, consultants, and client teams.
