The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Civil Litigation Division/Division of Civil Rights Section is seeking a Civil Rights Compliance Officer I. Under the direction of the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Officer I will: Review and analyze claims of discrimination from the public, to determine if discrimination in protected classes may have occurred in violation of the Arizona Civil Rights Act, Arizona Fair Housing Act or Arizonans with Disabilities Act (the “Acts”), and determine jurisdictional matters pertaining to the alleged violations. Draft complaints and perform investigations of the allegations stated in the complaints. Maintain assigned investigative files; including review, analysis, sorting and filing of evidence received from parties, attorneys, governmental agencies and other sources. Draft administrative discovery for documents and testimony. Conduct administrative interviews for fact finding purposes. Properly handle evidence and testimony and prepare division records and forms. Participate in litigation preparation, depositions and other pre-trial procedures arising out of cases investigated as needed. Participate in outreach and training for the public regarding the Acts’ coverage and compliance with civil rights laws. Complete studies and other special projects as assigned by the Compliance Manager. This position may offer the ability to work remotely two days a week based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
