About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to join their Water & Wastewater Group in Charlottesville, VA. This role is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects and the development of assigned client accounts. The position involves marketing and client development, ensuring technical quality, profitability, and adherence to schedules. The Project Manager will coordinate project staff, manage client communications, negotiate scopes and fees, handle billing, and assist with fee collection. A key aspect of the role is maintaining strong client relationships, cross-selling Timmons Group services, and communicating with the Group Leader. The ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with equivalent work experience
  • Professional registration (P.E.) in Virginia, and/or one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering related to Water/Wastewater or Infrastructure markets
  • Ability to design/manage portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and CADD technology
  • Ability to complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills
  • Ability to utilize computers in order to solve problems
  • Ability to prepare specification materials
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Effective communication with client, staff, and internal design team
