About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to join our Water & Wastewater Group in Staunton, Virginia. This role involves managing assigned projects and client accounts, focusing on marketing, client development, technical quality, profitability, schedule adherence, staff coordination, client communications, scope and fee negotiation, billing, and fee collection assistance. The Project Manager is expected to maintain strong client relationships, cross-sell company services, and communicate regularly with the Group Leader. The ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with equivalent work experience.
  • Professional registration (P.E.) in Virginia and/or one or more states where Timmons Group conducts business.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering related to Water/Wastewater or Infrastructure markets.
  • Ability to design/manage portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and CADD technology.
  • Ability to complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills.
  • Ability to utilize computers in order to solve problems.
  • Ability to prepare specification materials through the use of research and equipment catalogs.
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Effective communication with client, staff and internal design team.
  • High energy, creative, flexible, patient, self-starter.

  • Successful management of assigned projects and development of assigned client accounts.

  • Handling billing and assisting with fee collection.
  • Performing client follow-up and maintenance.

  • Ongoing communication with the Group Leader.
  • Managing several mid-sized projects and multiple small projects.
  • Designing/managing portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling, and CADD technology.
  • Completing calculations using engineering formulas and skills.
  • Utilizing computers to solve problems.
  • Preparing specification materials by researching and using equipment catalogs.
  • Assisting in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, staff, and internal design teams.
