About The Position

Ripple Effect Consulting (REC) is partnering with a growing civil engineering firm seeking an experienced Project Manager I (PM-I) to lead complex, multidiscipline civil engineering projects across land development and public infrastructure sectors. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a technically strong, client-focused professional who enjoys mentoring teams, driving project success, and helping grow a respected engineering practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience, including leadership/project management responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of: Land development design, Stormwater & utility infrastructure, Roadway geometry and grading, Permitting and regulatory processes, Contract administration and financial project management
  • Proven ability to successfully manage clients, teams, schedules, and budgets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Background in private development projects including commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale and multidiscipline civil engineering projects from planning through completion
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, QA/QC, and client communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and agency coordination
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address challenges
  • Perform and oversee civil engineering design including: Grading & drainage, Stormwater management & hydrology/hydraulic modeling, Water & sewer infrastructure, Roadway/intersection design, Erosion control & paving
  • Prepare construction plans, technical reports, calculations, cost estimates, and submission packages
  • Support agency review and permitting processes
  • Mentor junior and senior engineering staff
  • Promote project management best practices and technical excellence
  • Lead QA/QC initiatives and improve team efficiencies
  • Provide technical guidance on complex engineering challenges
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives
  • Strengthen existing client relationships while helping expand new opportunities
  • Participate in community engagement and industry visibility efforts
