About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Civil Project Engineer in Dallas, TX, to lead design efforts for low- to moderate-complexity civil projects while collaborating with senior staff on larger and more complex assignments. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering analysis, design, field inspections, reports, permit applications, and site drainage and grading solutions that support positive client outcomes. You’ll also contribute to meaningful work serving confidential technology companies, major higher education campuses, downtown high-rise developments, municipalities, parks, and tribal communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in the civil engineering field
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Ability to lead teams with others that utilize industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for civil site design projects across commercial, residential, industrial, and similar project types
  • Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools according to code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Complete and oversee permit applications in coordination with the team, client, and reviewing jurisdiction
  • Perform surface modeling, watershed modeling, storm sewer design, and sanitary sewer design
  • Support projects through bidding and construction administration phases
  • Interact with clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and build strong relationships
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project progress, percent complete, and fee expended
  • Analyze engineering problems, propose innovative solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants on practical, efficient outcomes
  • Interpret state and local design criteria, prioritize safety and regulatory compliance, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and identify project issues for escalation to the Project Manager
