Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join their Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in their Richmond, VA office. Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
• Synchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essential

Nice To Haves

• Between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning (new graduates will be considered)
• Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing
• Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal project experience
• Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge
• Experience working with DOT and/or localities
• PE/EIT

Responsibilities

• Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis
• Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems
• Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work
• Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates
• Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties
• Communicate with client staff and internal design team
• Communicate results/recommendations to the general public
