About The Position

GAI Consultants Inc is seeking a Civil Project Designer 2 to join their team. In this position, you will interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. Serve as a task manager for projects, as well as a technical Specialist. GAI’s Power Business Unit focuses on developing and supporting Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing clients.

Requirements

• Advanced level of skills.
• Proficient in aspects of Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of project design development, advanced grading tools, corridor, and alignments.
• Experience in mass grading and linear projects.
• Stays current on software updates and advises based on technical changes.
• Promotes and instructs others on advanced techniques and new methods.
• Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School or equivalent experience.
• Driver’s License
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Seeks to advance their knowledge of project design development, advanced grading tools, corridor, and alignments.
• Given general instructions and works independently with minimal supervision.
• Receives general review of project work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a task manager for projects, as well as a technical Specialist.
• Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
• Perform and guide others on deliverables with focus on adherence to CAD standards, software utilization and data management procedures; and ability to independently perform analyses.
• Maintain an overall ‘Big Picture” approach to the ongoing development, maintenance and adherence to CAD Standards and data management procedures and makes recommendations to supervisors.
• Perform final QA/QC.
• Responsible for task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
• Mentor lower-level CAD Operators.
• Provide solutions to unique problems.
• Implement quality reviews across project level.
• Facilitate interaction among staff.
• Effectively coach and mentor lower-level CAD Staff.
• Interact closely and effectively with Project Team.
• Interact and advise at regular project meetings.
