About The Position

GAI Consultants Inc is seeking a Civil Project Designer 2 to join their team. In this position, you will interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. Serve as a task manager for projects, as well as a technical Specialist. GAI’s Power Business Unit focuses on developing and supporting Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing clients. This is an advanced level role requiring proficiency in Civil 3D, including advanced grading tools, corridors, and alignments. Experience in mass grading and linear projects is essential. The role involves staying current on software updates, advising on technical changes, and promoting advanced techniques to others.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12+ Years of Experience
  • Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School or equivalent experience.
  • Driver’s License
  • Proficient in Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of advanced grading tools, corridor, and alignments.
  • Experience in mass grading and linear projects.
  • Ability to stay current on software updates and advise based on technical changes.
  • Ability to promote and instruct others on advanced techniques and new methods.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
  • Serve as a task manager for projects.
  • Serve as a technical Specialist.
  • Perform and guide others on deliverables with focus on adherence to CAD standards, software utilization and data management procedures.
  • Independently perform analyses.
  • Maintain an overall ‘Big Picture” approach to the ongoing development, maintenance and adherence to CAD Standards and data management procedures and makes recommendations to supervisors.
  • Perform final QA/QC.
  • Responsible for task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
  • Focuses a significant effort to mentoring lower-level CAD Operators.
  • Provides solutions to unique problems.
  • Cites insufficiencies and supplies recommendations.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Receives general review of project work.
  • Is a leader in implementing quality reviews across project level.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Facilitates interaction among staff.
  • Able to effectively coach and mentor lower-level CAD Staff.
  • Interacts closely and effectively with Project Team.
  • Interacts and advises at regular project meetings.
