Students work alongside experienced engineers and will perform a variety of projects and assignments that have specific instructions and expected results.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with declared major in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering
  • Available part time during the semester (~10-15 hours week) and full time during the summer.
  • Minimum 2.50 GPA

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with surveying existing facilities and construction layouts, coordinating underground utility locates, providing department database support, and review of shop drawings.
  • Develop construction drawings and documents, create structure and foundation CAD drawings, and scan and file as-built drawings.
  • Develop PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE design models.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and/or suggest improved methods.
  • Gather, correlate, and analyze specific data using established procedures.
  • Perform detailed and/or routine engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests and analysis.
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks that will improve the individual’s familiarization with the engineering methods, practices, and programs of the Company.
  • Support operating and maintenance functions with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, problem identification, problem resolution activities.
  • Assist Engineers with large projects, as needed.
  • Assist with the development of station/engineering goals, objectives, budgets, programs and procedures.
  • Plan and control all activities so as to provide an accident-free work place.
  • Conduct work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.
  • Regularly review assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
