Requirements

  • Licensed attorney in New York State or ability to obtain admission
  • 2+ years of experience handling civil litigation matters
  • Insurance defense experience
  • Ability to independently manage files and move cases forward with minimal supervision
  • Strong writing, research, negotiation, and courtroom skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Nice To Haves

  • 5-10+ years of litigation experience
  • Municipal law experience
  • Experience managing complex personal injury defense matters
  • Trial experience
  • Portable client relationships or business development interest
  • Prior mentoring or leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of civil litigation and insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
  • Handle pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
  • Develop case strategy and provide thoughtful legal analysis
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver responsive communication
  • Collaborate with partners and fellow attorneys on complex litigation matters
  • Participate in business development and client-facing opportunities as experience allows
  • Meet billable hour expectations while maintaining high-quality legal work
