About The Position

Simms Showers LLP is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney who desires to practice at a high level and integrate their faith meaningfully into their work. The associate will support plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business litigation, personal injury claims, and other complex matters. Working closely with experienced attorneys, the associate will assist in managing cases through all phases of litigation in state and federal courts, including legal research, motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. The role provides the opportunity to develop strong litigation skills while taking increasing ownership of case responsibilities and contributing to successful client outcomes. The work will span state and federal courts across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, supported by a seasoned, accessible team invested in the associate's success, while also trusting them to take ownership of their cases.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of civil litigation experience or clerkship experience
  • Active bar admission in Virginia
  • Demonstrated legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, clients and expert witnesses
  • Ability to take ownership of assignment
