About The Position

The Civil Investigator will perform professional investigations to clarify/verify facts and communicate with landowners both verbally and in written format. This role is part of the Border Fence Project program and involves preparing individual project files, correspondence, and written reports/analysis of information. The investigator will also serve as an English/Spanish interpreter/translator and travel in support of investigations. Requirements

Fifteen years law enforcement experience (preferred federal law experience).
Experience in condemnation and working on complex investigations preferred.
Foreign language skills are required (English-Spanish)
Significant experience in testifying in court
Must have above average written and oral communication skills
Individual(s) selected will be subject to a Department of Justice background investigation.
Candidate must be able to successfully pass a Minimum Background Investigation prior to starting work on site and receive favorable adjudication of the appropriate Department of Justice background investigation consistent with a position sensitivity level 6, which requires the completion of an SF 85P/S, Questionnaire/s for Public Trust Position.
Training and experience in federal law enforcement and/or federal investigation fields can be substituted for education.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to business users.
