Civil Intern - Land Development
About The Position
LaBella’s Civil Division provides services in Municipal, Land Development, Renewable Energy, Planning, Gas, and Data Intelligence. The Civil Intern will join the Land Development team at the Syracuse, New York office during the summer of 2027. The intern will provide technical support to engineers and gain practical knowledge and experience in civil engineering by working with team members across different facets of the field. Work is closely monitored by a supervisor or manager, with detailed instructions and procedures generally provided. Decisions generally affect the intern’s own position or specific functional area. Problems are routine and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma and currently pursuing a degree in engineering.
- Valid driver's license.
- Less than one year of work-related experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing site plans, drawings, and technical documents for land development projects.
- Support engineers and project teams with design development, basic calculations, data organization, and project-related research.
- Help gather field information through site visits, observations, and data collection activities.
- Assist with preparing reports, permit support materials, and other project documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with internal staff and multidisciplinary teams to support project coordination and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Participate in training, mentoring, and professional development activities to build knowledge of land development processes, design tools, and engineering practices.
