About The Position

RAM is a project delivery firm specializing in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. RAM is searching for a motivated and experienced individual in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team. RAM is looking for a Drafting Technician to support geotechnical engineering and earthworks construction projects across a range of infrastructure and development work. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys technical drafting, working closely with engineers, and turning complex site and design information into clear, accurate construction drawings, figures, and presentation materials. You will support projects involving excavations, fills, slopes, retaining walls, foundations, stormwater management, sediment control, excavation shoring, groundwater, and soil stratigraphy.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of drafting experience preferred
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Experience with plotting, drawing customization, and troubleshooting
Strong ability to think and visualize in 3D
High attention to detail and accuracy
Familiarity with engineering, construction, geotechnical, civil, or earthworks projects
Comfortable working with metric and Imperial engineering scales
Proficient with PDFs, spreadsheets, and common office files
Strong English verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable working with engineers and project teams
Willingness to support occasional field work when required

Responsibilities

Prepare construction drawings, figures, plans, elevations, sections, and details for reports, presentations, and project deliverables
Support geotechnical and earthworks-related drawings, including excavations, slopes, retaining walls, foundations, shoring, drainage, groundwater, and soil stratigraphy
Work closely with engineers and technical staff in a collaborative team environment
Manage drawing files and coordinate the receipt, organization, and issuing of project drawings
Review and interpret drawings and information from architects, engineers, surveyors, utility providers, and GIS sources
Support drawing coordination across civil, structural, mechanical, survey, and utility information
Assist with field work, including site reconnaissance and field measurements
Help ensure drawings are accurate, organized, and delivered to a high professional standard
