About The Position

Stantec is hiring a Civil/Environmental Engineering Intern/Co-op for Summer 2027 in its Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. The intern will work in a team environment on infrastructure projects that may include water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, conveyance systems, and hydraulic models. The role offers hands-on experience alongside experienced practitioners and exposure to local projects involving drinking water, wastewater, waste-to-energy, water recycling, sewer utilities, stormwater infrastructure utilities, and public green stormwater infrastructure utilities.

The intern will assist engineers and designers with calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and other documents for bid and construction; prepare and edit drawings using AutoCAD; and complete other engineering and administrative duties as needed. The role is intended for a motivated and dependable student pursuing a degree in civil or environmental engineering.

Requirements

• Be in progress toward earning at least a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Have an understanding of basic AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Be able to multitask, prioritize, and take direction.
• Be a motivated and dependable student.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies, and programs.
• Coursework or exposure in planning, design, construction, water/wastewater infrastructure, or construction management.
• Courses in civil engineering design, process engineering, or construction management.

Responsibilities
