About The Position
Bolton & Menk is seeking applications for their 2027 summer internship season on their Municipal teams in the Twin Cities Metro area. This internship offers a chance to work with a talented team of professionals and make a lasting impact on the communities served. With over 75 years of experience, Bolton & Menk specializes in providing community infrastructure solutions across the Midwest, Southeast, and beyond. As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will gain practical on-the-job experience serving municipalities, with the majority of your time spent working with construction phase activities. This internship opportunity is with their Municipal team.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program or closely related program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8; desired GPA of 3.2 or above.
- Desired status is Sophomore or above with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
- Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for construction observation duties.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and own transportation or ability to use public transportation.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, part-time basis or internship for any employer without restriction.

Responsibilities
- Assist on civil engineering projects with tasks involving civil engineering, planning and design.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Assist with construction observation, performing construction staking, and performing construction administration duties.
- Work on various reports, complete design calculations, write specifications, and review shop drawings.
