About The Position

As a Civil Engineering Intern with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), based in the Charlotte, NC office, you will develop your civil engineering skills by performing calculations, preparing sketches and drawings, creating safety plans, and assisting with field efforts for commercial and institutional clients. You will coordinate with teams across Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, Solid Waste, and Water/Wastewater disciplines. CEC’s Internship Program offers practical experience applying college coursework, opportunities to learn from industry experts, collaboration with teams across functions and locations, social events and interactive activities to build a professional network, mentorship on real-world challenges, and workshops that foster workplace interpersonal skills and prepare students for full-time careers.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for CEC in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Enrollment in an applicable college major is a plus.
AutoCAD experience.
Prior internship and/or related experience.

Responsibilities

Perform calculations and prepare sketches and drawings.
Create safety plans and assist with field efforts for commercial and institutional clients.
Work and coordinate with Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, Solid Waste, and Water/Wastewater disciplines.
Apply knowledge from college courses to practical work and collaborate with teams across functional groups and locations.
