Civil Engineering Intern | Greenwood Village, CO
About The Position
IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Greenwood Village, CO to work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, field inspections, writing reports, preparing permit applications, site drainage and grading designs, and learning the Civil Engineering trade. Over 10-12 weeks, you will gain hands-on experience supporting civil engineering work across active projects. This role supports work performed within project monetary budgets and in collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will contribute to municipal and transportation work while helping deliver resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure. This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities.
Requirements
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
- Strong interest in design consulting
- May be to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
Responsibilities
- Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
- Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment
- Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files
- Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
- Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
- Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
- Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
- Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement
