About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Civil Engineering Co-op/Intern student for Spring or Summer 2027 to support large-scale transportation and remediation projects in Troy, Michigan, and neighboring regions. Under the direction of a degreed engineer, the intern performs basic to moderately difficult engineering support assignments involving design drawings, figures, specifications, calculations, and reports. Assignments are intended to build practical knowledge of civil engineering projects. The role calls for someone versatile and enthusiastic about working in a flexible, team-oriented environment, with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. The position is part of Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure team, which plans, designs, builds, and modernizes infrastructure intended to improve communities, mobility, sustainability, and resiliency.

Requirements

Be enrolled in an engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university.
Typically have completed at least two years of study in a Civil Engineering discipline.
Complete relevant coursework.
Be literate in Microsoft Office Suite software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Have working knowledge of CAD and other computer software used to complete design assignments.

Responsibilities

Assist with civil engineering tasks for transportation and remedial design projects.
Assist in developing design drawings and writing technical specifications.
Assist with engineering calculations to support design projects.
Assist in writing design reports and technical memorandums.
Work collaboratively and effectively with the project team.
May conduct field work, including taking measurements or photographs.
Implement behavior-based safety tools to support incident-free operations for the client and Parsons.
