Civil Engineering Designer, Capacity Delivery
About The Position
Fluidstack is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer to join their Capacity Delivery team. The company's mission is to make humanity more free by delivering massive amounts of compute infrastructure for AI. This role is crucial in designing and building data centers at scale, with a focus on speed and efficiency. The Data Center Design Team is responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of GWs of data centers, driving next-generation cooling and electrical systems, and developing modular data centers. They also influence behind-the-meter designs for multi-GW campuses.
Requirements
- Experience drafting civil construction documents in Civil 3D or AutoCAD that have been issued for construction and built from.
- Proficiency in building surfaces, grading, corridors, and pipe networks in Civil 3D, from survey data to finished sheets.
- Proven ability to incorporate engineer redlines into finished sheets on same-day deadlines while maintaining set consistency.
- Skill in ensuring drawing sets are internally consistent, with resolved callouts, aligned matchlines, and existing referenced details.
- Experience working under deadlines where missed submittals could delay permits, and successfully delivering sheets on time.
- Experience setting up or maintaining CAD standards for other drafters to follow.

- Erosion control and SWPPP drawing experience.
Responsibilities
- Produce civil drawing sets for data center site development, including grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and site plans, from engineer redlines to issued-for-construction.
- Turn drawing revisions around inside a day during permitting and construction, especially when a submittal date or an open RFI is waiting on the sheet.
- Build and maintain civil CAD standards (templates, layers, detail library) to ensure consistency across all site drawing sets and to improve efficiency for future projects.
- Coordinate civil sheets with structural and architectural models to identify potential clashes on paper before they cause issues in the field.
- Prepare permit exhibits, plats, and agency-requested revisions to facilitate the submittal process without diverting engineers from design work.
