About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Sherman, Texas office is seeking an engineering graduate with at least one year of experience to join its Water/Wastewater team. This is not a remote position. The analyst will assist with the design of municipal water and wastewater utility projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to complete assigned work. The role includes on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience with a civil engineering design firm.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water and wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions.
• Contribute to a variety of municipal water and wastewater utility design projects.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to successfully complete assigned projects.
• Maintain high-quality plan sets and check the work of others.
• Perform engineering tasks while participating in training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
