About The Position

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering graduates to join our Greenwood Village, Colorado (CO) office in 2027! This is not a remote position. Responsibilities include utilizing technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC subsurface utility engineering deliverables. The role involves using field data, sketches, photos, utility records, survey information, and reference maps to develop accurate utility mapping and project exhibits. Support will be provided for the collection, organization, interpretation, and documentation of subsurface utility information for projects of varying size and scope. The position contributes to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, permitting, and analysis by incorporating utility information into project deliverables. Collaboration with project managers and across civil, survey, and other disciplines is expected to identify utility conflicts and support project coordination. The role also involves developing familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn and client practices, procedures, and standards applicable to subsurface utility engineering. Learning and applying software programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or GIS is part of the role. Willingness and ability to travel and perform field work up to 25% of the time is required. Additional responsibilities and duties will be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) by Summer 2027 in one of the following majors: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or related Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying/Geomatics Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Support the collection, organization, interpretation, and documentation of subsurface utility information for projects ranging in size and scope.
  • Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, permitting, and analysis by incorporating utility information into project deliverables.
  • Assist project managers and collaborate across civil, survey, and other disciplines to identify utility conflicts and support project coordination.
  • Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn and client practices, procedures, and standards applicable to subsurface utility engineering.
  • Learn and apply one or more software programs, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or GIS.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and perform field work up to 25% of the time
