About The Position

A client in the municipal industry has an opportunity for a Civil Engineer in the Westchester, Illinois area. This direct-hire role is a long-term need and must be worked on-site, with a possible opportunity for hybrid status later on.

The Civil Engineer will use hydrology and hydraulic modeling to analyze sanitary, storm, and combined sewer systems. The role also leads and manages municipal infrastructure projects, guides design decisions, ensures high-quality deliverables, mentors junior engineers, and prepares drainage studies or technical memorandums for projects involving federal or state funding.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2–10 years of municipal and/or water resources experience.
• Experience with HydroCAD, HEC-HMA, PCSWMM, HydroFlow, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, or ArcGIS.
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset.

Nice To Haves

• Engineer Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use hydrology and hydraulic modeling to analyze sanitary, storm, and combined sewer systems.
• Lead and manage municipal infrastructure projects involving roadway, drainage, sanitary, and water distribution systems.
• Guide design decisions and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Prepare Location Drainage Studies or Drainage Technical Memorandums for projects involving federal or state funding.
