About The Position

This mid-level position uses and develops civil engineering skills as part of a multidisciplinary team designing, modifying, and analyzing power plant systems. The work spans a range of power plant projects and includes civil site development, calculations, designs, specifications, and permitting support. The role may involve travel to client offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification. The position follows a hybrid schedule requiring in-office work three days per week.

Requirements

• BSCE from a program approved by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission.
• 1–2 years of experience with design techniques, tools, and principles used to produce technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with civil engineering software such as Civil 3D, StormCad, PondPack, MicroStation, or AutoCAD.
• One or more years of related experience in site grading and drainage, storm sewer systems, road design, track design, ponds, and/or landfills.
• Related engineering internship or co-op work experience.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designation as an Engineer in Training.
• Experience writing and providing supporting documentation for civil engineering specifications or calculations.
• Interest in and effective use of emerging technologies relevant to the role; experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations for storm water drainage, sanitary sewer systems and disposal fields, and earthwork to support design and permitting.
• Prepare technical specifications defining construction requirements.
• Prepare site layout, grading, and drainage designs.
• Design storm sewer systems, roads, trackwork, water storage and wastewater disposal ponds, and solid waste landfills.
• Work with Designers to accurately represent designs in 3-D models and design drawings.
• Review shop drawings and other vendor documentation for conformity with specifications.
• Travel, as needed, to client offices for design reviews and plant sites for construction coordination and field verification of designs.
